Penny Farm is located on the outskirts of Blackpool and provides welfare for horses. I have recently visited Penny Farm as my mum used to volunteer there and we had arranged to meet a friend. I haven’t been for many years and it was good to see there have been lots of improvements with good wheelchair accessibility. There is a new area housing the cafe, reception and toilets and the facility is level throughout.
When I visited, one of the horses was having equine physio with others being schooled, washed, brushed or just relaxing and asleep. The horses and ponies are cared for and eventually rehomed.
I found everywhere to be accessible for wheelchairs with ramp access or level floors.
The visit to the cafe was delicious and the staff are lovely. I have included a menu which includes the option of Afternoon Tea. I enjoyed a toastie, latte and as the cakes looked amazing, I shared a scone with my mum. Delicious.
Penny Farm is a great day out and well worth a visit. It is free to enter and is open to visitors on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 3pm. Please use this link for more details. Penny Farm
